Who we are
International Barcodes is part of the International Barcodes Network, founded in 2006, working directly in over 120 countries and serving customers in more than 160 countries worldwide. We’re a small team, trading as International Barcodes Ltd, and we’ve been supplying barcodes since 2007.
We supply retail barcodes, ITF-14 carton barcodes and QR codes to businesses anywhere in the world: a one-off price, no annual fees, and the numbers are yours permanently.
Our customers range from sole traders packing their first product to established international brands, across food, beverage, cosmetics, publishing, fashion and everything in between.
The International Barcodes team
David Allis — Director. David runs the business and still answers customer emails himself, often late at night and early in the morning, which is why replies sometimes arrive at odd hours.
Andrea Smith — Customer Advisor. Andrea handles customer questions, orders, registrations and custom requests. If you’ve dealt with us, you’ve probably dealt with Andrea.
Amelia Allis — Customer Advisor. Amelia covers customer emails and order support, so there’s usually someone available to pick things up.
When you email International Barcodes, one of us reads it, and one of us replies. Nobody’s routed to a call centre, and nobody’s reading from a script.
Where we are, and why it doesn’t matter
Our head office is in Auckland, New Zealand. Most of our customers aren’t, so it’s worth explaining why that works.
Barcode numbers aren’t country-specific. A number issued to a business in Germany, Nigeria, or Brazil is the same number wherever it’s issued, and the retailers scanning it don’t know or care where it was bought. What matters is that the number is unique, legitimate and registered to you.
Alongside the head office, the International Barcodes Network runs local offices in markets around the world, staffed by people who know their own retail environment and can deal with customers in their own language. If there’s a local office better placed to help you, we’ll tell you.
The practical upside of the head office being where it is: we’re working while much of the world sleeps, so an email sent at the end of your day usually has a reply waiting when you start the next one.
What we believe about barcodes
Most of our customers are buying a barcode for the first time, and the industry doesn’t make that easy. We’d rather explain than upsell. If you don’t need something, we’ll say so. If your product needs something we don’t sell, we’ll point you to whoever does.
That’s why there’s a free guide on this site, why every barcode comes with both UPC-A and EAN-13 versions rather than forcing you to choose, and why registration in the International Barcodes Database is included rather than charged for. Registration also makes your product easier to find online and makes it harder for anyone else to claim your numbers.
