Barcode Artwork Test
We have a new service where we can test your barcode artwork to determine whether it will scan well.
This is not an official Barcode Verification Report (which costs $59), as required by some supermarket and hardware chains. But it is a test using the same equipment and giving the same information.
This test will be done on your artwork – so you can have more confidence about the quality of the barcode before you go to print – or it will tell you what problems there are with the barcode artwork.
To do this test, please purchase the quantity you require ($20 each) and then email a pdf of the barcode artwork to us. The pdf must be A4 or smaller in size and 100%. We will print it on a laser printer in B&W (so it won’t test any other print colours) and test it, then email the report to you.
You can view some sample reports below. Grades vary from A (excellent) to C (OK) to D & below, which are fails.

Barcode Registration
If you purchase Barcode Registration, you will be able to register your barcode number and product information on the International Barcodes Database (information registered on that database filters through to several other major online databases as well). Please enter your barcode number(s) in the “additional information” section on the checkout page. Once we receive your order, we will email you to request proof of ownership (so that we can verify that you are the owner of your barcode number). We will then activate your barcode number for registration, and provide you with instructions on how to register your barcode number (please note that Registration is included for free if you purchase one of our Barcode Packages).

The sequence can either by alpha-numeric, or numeric only. If you don’t specify which format you want we use Code 128 format as the default format.
Code 128 or Code 39 barcodes are used for library books, membership cards, vouchers, SKU codes, internal inventory tracking, etc.

Custom QR codes
We can make your QR code with colour and logos to better match your brand image.
If you have a good designer, they can modify the QR codes for you. However, this is often expensive, and sometimes, they can inadvertently damage the actual QR code so that it won’t scan.
We have dedicated designers that can provide custom QR code designs for you.
This product includes;
- a static or dynamic QR code (see below for the difference between static and dynamic)
- QR code image design supplied in 4 formats (SVG, eps, pdf and png)
In the comments box on the checkout page, tell us about your company’s brand and how you will be using the QR code. Let us know the colours you want. Please email us your logo as a png or jpeg file. Then our designers can create a custom QR code for you.
The cost of a Custom QR Code is $40. Any extra design time is charged at 15 USD per hour.
This example shows the same QR code in original and customised versions.
There are limits to the changes we can make to a QR code, as the overriding aim is to maintain its ability to be scanned. We can introduce two colours (with gradients), add a custom logo to the centre and alter the QR code’s foreground elements.

STATIC QR Codes
Static QR codes encode your URL directly in the QR code. They are permanent. They will work as long as your website URL doesn’t change. They can’t be changed, as the URL is encoded directly in the QR Code. They have unlimited scans. Static QR codes can also be used for things other than URLs, e.g. encoding text, v business cards, and sending an email or SMS message.DYNAMIC QR Codes
These use our Dynamic QR Code service, which enables the target URL to be changed repeatedly in the future if required.Unlimited scans: Scans of the Dynamic QR Code are UNLIMITED so long as you don’t abuse the QR code with millions of scans that cause technical problems such as crashed servers.
Functions for life: The Dynamic QR Code, with its redirection capability, will function FREE for two years and will continue to function after that for as long as you pay a two-yearly fee of $20.
FREE unlimited redirection of the target URL: You can redirect the target URL as often as you wish via our customer portal.
Two years of tracking: You can pay us for TRACKING REPORTS with prices depending on frequency, the complexity of reports, and how many QR Codes are being tracked – please enquire for details.
