Note – Barcode registration is included with all of the barcode numbers we sell. You should only purchase barcode registration if you have a barcode through another provider you wish to register.
When you get to the checkout page, please enter your barcode numbers into the “enter your barcode number(s) here” box. If you have more than one barcode number, please separate each number with a comma. We will then send you an email asking for proof that you own the barcode numbers. When we receive proof of barcode ownership, we will activate your barcode numbers. You will receive instructions on how to register them on Barcodes Customer Portal. Your barcode numbers and product details will then be visible in search engine results as well as on the Verified by IBN barcode and product database.

Barcode Registration
If you purchase Barcode Registration, you will be able to register your barcode number and product information on the International Barcodes Database (information registered on that database filters through to several other major online databases as well). Please enter your barcode number(s) in the “additional information” section on the checkout page. Once we receive your order, we will email you to request proof of ownership (so that we can verify that you are the owner of your barcode number). We will then activate your barcode number for registration, and provide you with instructions on how to register your barcode number (please note that Registration is included for free if you purchase one of our Barcode Packages).

What is Barcode Registration?
Barcode registration is an optional service that we offer to increase the internet profile of your product generally. This service is completely optional. It is not required for any barcode numbers, as there is no central database for barcodes. However, there are several advantages to registering your barcodes online.
Barcode registration is FREE with our barcode packages. Hence, this should only be purchased if you have acquired a barcode from another barcode supplier.
- Registering your barcode links your barcode number to your product and company, making it searchable in the Verified by IBN barcode/product database.
- This registration improves compatibility with some smartphone scanner apps, such as the Zebra app, so that scanning your product displays its information. [Click here for more information on barcode scanning apps.]
- It also boosts your product’s online visibility. When someone searches the barcode on Google or another search engine, the product information will appear.
- Registering your barcode in online databases can also discourage unauthorized use on platforms like Amazon. If someone searches the barcode and sees it’s already in use, they are far less likely to misuse it.
- Although using a sold barcode illegally is not allowed, tracking and resolving such misuse can be a hassle for the legal owner. You can avoid this issue by registering your barcode and clearly associating it with your product online.
NOTE we will require proof of your ownership of the barcode number – this is to demonstrate that the barcode number you wish to register actually belongs to you. Please email us proof of ownership after you place your order.
